Hard Flooring
Hardwood
Pre Finished
Pre finished Hardwood flooring is factory stained and coated with a no wax finish of Polyurethane aluminum oxide for durability, or impregnated with Acrylic (depending on the brand selected) and is available as:
1- Engineered Products (Plied construction consisting of 3-5 criss-cross plies)
Engineered products are designed for glue-down installation, or in some cases a " Floating" installation over a thin Styrofoam pad over concrete or wood floors. Product thickness depends on the particular brand selected and ranges from 3/16" to 9/16".
Engineered products are available in "Plank" form (3" wide strips) or "Strip" form (2 1/4" wide strips) both of which are available in standard board length, or random board length. The width of a plank does not affect performance in any way and is chosen by the consumer as a matter of aesthetic appeal.
2- Solid products
Solid products in this category are also pre finished and coated with a no wax finish of Polyurethane or impregnated with Acrylic. Thicknesses range from 1/2" to 3/4". These products are designed for nail-down applications. The overall thickness (including the wood sub floor they are nailed onto may be up to 1 1/2" which is a deterrent to using this type of flooring in remodeling projects of existing homes unless the sub floor is recessed to accommodate such an installation). Otherwise, doors may have to be cut and adjoining rooms may be lower resulting in a hazardous condition.
Custom Sand & Finish Hardwood flooring
Unfinished hardwood flooring is also available in Engineered products (Plied construction), or in solid form (1/2"- 3/4" wide) These products can be custom stained with your choice of color and coated with your preference of Polyurethane or wax finish. Some species of wood do not require a stain. When the wood is sealed or finished, its natural color is highly desirable and is therefore not stained such as Chatoba Brazilian Cherry), Ebony (Black-colored), among many other species.
Laminate Flooring
Laminate flooring is one of the most durable choices for heavy traffic areas. The construction process lends itself to withstand the toughest of stains, fading, and traffic pattern wear. Laminates are made to look like real wood or stone with little if any of the maintenance associated with such floors. Laminate flooring is installed utilizing the "floating" method, in which the product floats on a thin Styrofoam pad and is not attached to the sub-floor. Trim used, such as quarter 'round moldings help fasten the laminate to the sub- flooring. This method of installation helps prevent moisture damage from the sub-floor such as moisture in the concrete slab due to hydrostatic pressure. We feature the finest Name brands available in Laminate Flooring with triple 15 year warranties. We can custom install it for you, or, because of its ease of installation, you may prefer to do it yourself, in either case, come see us and discover the difference.

Ceramic Tile
Ceramic tile and porcelain has been utilized as a beautiful and elegant form of floor covering, wall covering, and counter top covering for many centuries around the globe. This man-made product is produced using clay in the case of ceramic tile, or 55% glass and 45% clay in the case of porcelain. Both products are then formed and painted, then covered with a glazing compound, and fired in kilns to achieve the hardness and degree of luster needed. Porcelain tile is manufactured for heavy duty purposes that require superior performance characteristics to that which is offered through the use of standard ceramic tile. In recent years, Ceramic tile has been designed to look like real stone (Slate, rough stone, Marble, Granite, Travertine, etc.) resulting in the popular Stone-look.
Since Ceramic tile is glazed, it is not porous and will remain stain free for the life of the glaze which may last up to 20+ years (that of course depends on the traffic it is subjected to, as well as the quality and grade of the tile). Porcelain tile is offered in two formats:
1) glazed porcelain
2) through-stone porcelain; the latter has the color and design throughout the thickness of the tile.
Ceramic tile and porcelain is graded for Glaze hardness, clay type hardness, moisture absorbency and temperature fired at, in addition to the number of times it is fired and degree of heat it is fired under. Ceramic tile is produced in many countries around the world such as Spain, Italy, Turkey, and South America in addition to the United States and Canada among others. It is the best suited for any area of the home and may be installed indoors or outdoors (depending on the grade), directly over concrete slabs, or in conjunction with a concrete board, "Hardi-backer", over a wood sub-floor. We feature a great selection of the world's finest ceramic tile and we custom install it for you as a floor tile, wall tile, or custom counter top and back splash. Come see us.
Stone
Marble
Marble is a natural stone produced in many parts of the world such as Greece and Italy, India, USA, Mexico, Turkey, etc. Each country has a distinct characteristic for its marble, with patterns available only from specific countries. All marble is beautiful and extremely unique. It is available in 12X12" size or in some cases as large as 18X18" sizes in addition to slab marble for counters and custom fire places. Shading or variance in color, and pattern is common in marble due to the fact that it is a natural substance and not man-made! Marble may be used for flooring, counter top material, wall- finish, as in bathroom walls or shower walls, in addition to being fabricated into furniture of all shapes. We install marble as well as repair and refinish, so come by and see us and check out our wonderful selection.
Granite
Granite is a natural stone with a denser structure than marble resulting in a totally different look. For the most part, granite is harder to scratch than marble, due to the denser structure, and lacks the veins and other characteristics common to marble. Granite is available in many colors and is suitable for many uses in flooring, wall finishes, counter top and backsplashes. It may be fabricated into tables and desks, planters, pedestals, etc. and used indoors or out. We feature a great selection of granite for any use, and we install it in tile form, or slab form for counter tops and fire places. Come by and see us.
We also feature a great selection of other natural stones such as Slate and Travertine.
